It has been very hot in Denver this year. Even though it is only the end of June, it has been over 40 degrees centigrade here for days at a time. Denver however has low humidity so the shaded areas are comfortable even with these high temperatures. On the good side, an uchideshi’s heavy keiko-gi dries in an hour in the sun. On the down side however, it has been so hot and dry here that there are fires burning all over the state of Colorado.
Homma Kancho will be heading to South East Asia and South America soon. For him, the Denver climate is heaven because where he is going is so hot and humid, mosquitoes and disease become quite a danger.
