Homma Kancho made a quick visit to Dhaka, Bangladesh to check in on the Madrasa Orphanage for girls, which was completed with AHAN’s help in May of 2010. Dhaka was bustling and traffic challenging as usual as Homma Kancho accompanied by AHAN Bangladesh Coordinator Maji Sarkar in the lead arrived at the five-story Madrasa Orphanage facility. Behind them was a caravan of trucks bearing 250 kilos of rice and supplies. AHAN has been supplying 500 kilos of rice monthly to the Madrasa Orphanage since 2007. The facility houses up to 500 girls who spend their days in the newly constructed classrooms learning their studies.

Homma Kancho met with Madrasa elders and spent time with the senior elder of the facility discussing their ideas for future building projects: specifically a new facility next door for boys. AHAN will be looking at these facility improvements in 2012.
