To celebrate the closing performance of the musical “Merry Poppins” at Denver’s premier Denver Center for the Performing Arts, the performers and staff came to Nippon Kan’s Domo Restaurant for dinner. Homma Kancho prepared a great feast for them and said, “Acting has the same challenges as the martial arts; for actors, it is to face your audience and perform to the best of your ability.”

Among the cast was a young Japanese woman whom Homma Kancho recognized for her talents and hard work ethics. The performers all laughed when Homma Kancho referred to the production as “Merry Ping Pong”. The performers had been on the road with this production for over a year, and ate heartily to celebrate their last performance.

Homma Kancho is known for his support of young artists in many fields and this night was a celebration to remember.
