AHAN monthly rice donation.

AHAN has been supporting the Madrasa Orphanage and School for Girls since 2006. In 2008 AHAN funded the building of the new building that currently houses up to 100 girls.

On August 1st, 2013 construction on a new adjoining Madrasa facility officially began that is projected to house an additional 100 girls. The new building does not yet have all of the support it needs to be fully functional and we hope that Homma Kancho will be able to come to visit us soon.

We have received our monthly allotment of 500 kg of rice from Nippon Kan AHAN.

Reported March 25th, 2013    Mr. Nana Passes Away

IMG_0128

I must inform you of the passing of Mr. Halim Nana on March 3, 2013. Mr. Nana served on many occasions as guide to Homma Kancho on his visits to Bangladesh. Born in an era when Bangladesh was East Pakistan, Mr. Nana served as a butler to my father who served as administrator of the State. Mr. Nana was a sophisticated man who spoke English and carried himself in a genteel manner.

I delivered the gift and a letter of condolences from Homma Kancho to Mr. Nana’s surviving wife, two daughters and son.
