The Nepal Army Rangers are now teaching Nippon Kan Aikido and unarmed combat technique as part of basic training throughout the Nepalese Army.

On October 25th-28th, Homma Kancho, NPO Nippon Kan President Doug Kelly and Nippon Kan Special Advisor Scott Roney traveled to Kathmandu, Nepal to attend the ground breaking ceremony for the new AHAN Nepal Training Center. Nepal Army Rangers and Nepalese Army cadets will be training daily in Nippon Kan Aikido at this new facility. The new facility will serve as a place of dedicated practice for the Nepal Army Rangers and also serve as a bridge facility to build civil-military relations by offering civilian Aikido classes and activities.

Before the ground breaking ceremony for the new AHAN Nepal Training Center, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the current Ranger Nippon Kan Aikido dojo for the additional office and classroom that were added to the building this fall.

The AHAN U.S. delegation also went to visit the Nepal Army Ranger mountain training facility and held meetings with high-ranking Nepalese Army Ranger officials to discuss the construction and long term goals for the new AHAN Nepal Training Center.

The new facility is projected to be completed within three months. The opening ceremony is scheduled for the first week of February.
